Reserved Officer Training Unit or in the acronym of ROTU, is a colloboration programme in between Ministry of Defense and Ministy of Education of Malaysia, to provide a learning opportunity on military science for the undergraduates who pursue for their higher education in public university.

Despite of the reason to prepare the reserved officer for Military Force of Malaysia, in align with the efforts and goals of the government, this programme aims to cultivate a holistic personality on the undergraduates, to ensure they can be a good citizen who has high self-discipline and always ready to protect for the nation in future. Each of the trainee has to undergo for a 3-years duration of training courses, which conduct for the subjects of military science for every weekend, before they can become a cadet officer. In addition, there are few extensive and intensive courses will also be organised once in a year, which takes about 3 weeks duration. Currently, there are 3 branches of this programme have been introduced for the trainees, which are Army Forces, Navy Forces and Air Forces. For time being, this programme is running in 12 public university of Malaysia and each university has their own training post.
