Serdang, 26 April - The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) has organized an online briefing on the adoption of BS ISO as a performance indicator for world-class academic libraries It was attended by 113 library staff to understand the British International Standard (BS ISO) and the standard's performance indicators to be soon adapted in PSAS.
Ms Halina Abu Seman@Talib, Deputy Chief Senior Librarian (Planning and Development) PSAS, explained the importance of BS ISO 11620:2023 in setting performance indicators for service quality in the library to become a world-class academic library. This initiative is one of the agendas of academic libraries in Malaysia in the quest to improve services to meet the needs of users. She also explained about the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in developing a performance measurement model.
The 2 hours session is scheduled to be continued with an action plan for the selection of performance indicators to be adapted in PSAS. Participants were also actively involved in a question and answer session at the end of the briefing.
