KOSASS Soft Skills Training & Academic Appreciation Ceremony (KOSTAC) 3.0

KOSASS Soft Skills Training & Academic Appreciation Ceremony (KOSTAC) 3.0 is a holistic program that involves a few sub-programs organised by Academic Secretariat, College Representative Council (MPK), Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS) 2021/2022 session, in collaboration with the Management of Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS). This program has been carried out online from 17th to 19th December 2021. The objective of KOSTAC 3.0 is to produce all-rounded students with high soft skills for human capital development.  In order to achieve the first goal in UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025 which is to enhance the graduate quality and competitiveness, KOSTAC 3.0 has prepared a few sub-programs which are in line with the goals. Some of the KOSTAC 3.0 sub programs include  Malam Gemilang Akademik (MGA), KOSTAC Webinar Series: Strategies to Manage & Cope with Anxiety to Mitigate Stress, Bengkel Alatan Digital (Microsoft Word & Excel) and KOSTAC Webinar Series: Winning Interviews with a Winning Resume.

 

KOSTAC 3.0 kicked off with Malam Gemilang Akademik (MGA) which was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid bin Arshad as the Principle of Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah on 17th December. MGA is an appreciation ceremony to appreciate and celebrate students with excellent academic achievements in the second semester of  2020/2021 academic session. The award was hoped to encourage the receivers and other students to improve their achievements.

 

Next, KOSTAC 3.0 was continued with KOSTAC Webinar Series: Strategies to Manage & Cope with Anxiety to Mitigate Stress on 18th December by Ms Dhena Doraisamy as the speaker. The aim of this webinar is to promote exposure towards collegiate students in managing their anxiety especially during and post-COVID-19 outbreak.

 

Moreover, Bengkel Alatan Digital (Microsoft Word & Excel) was followed onto the next day of the sub-programs which was on 19th December morning. This workshop was conducted by Dr. Khairil Anas Md Rezali for Microsoft Word and Dr. Zamir Aimaduddin Bin Zulkefli for Microsoft Excel. The objective of this workshop is to strengthen students’ digital skills that are needed towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which focuses on the usage of technology.

KOSTAC 3.0 ended with KOSTAC Webinar Series: Winning Interviews with a Winning Resume on 19th December night. This webinar was conducted by Cik Nor Adilatun Najwa Abdullah and Cik Cherry Chin who are the speakers from Xremo Sdn. Bhd. Xremo is a professional, passionate and experienced recruitment agency that helps job seekers to achieve their employment objectives by providing innovative recruitment and advisory solutions. This webinar aims to equip and expose the students with the skills that are needed in an ever-challenging working environment.

In conclusion, sub-programs under KOSTAC 3.0 which include ‘Malam Gemilang Akademik’ (MGA), KOSTAC Webinar Series: Strategies to Manage & Cope with Anxiety to Mitigate Stress,

Bengkel Alatan Digital’ (Microsoft Word & Excel) dan KOSTAC Webinar Series: Winning Interviews with a Winning Resume had succeeded in achieving the objectives outlined which is by becoming a medium to provide exposure and opportunities to equip students with skills that cannot be acquired solely through their academic involvements in their respective courses. These skills are important to promote strong individuals and their abilities to solve problems creatively and critically in facing the country’s transition towards Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 including Internet of Things (IoT).
