A Day with Alumni 6.0 was conducted on 1st of June 2021 (Tuesday) which involved three panels Miss Siti Nor Hidayah Binti Ahmad nasir, Mr Muhammad Shahman Bin Shahrom and Mr Maruth Sumooncharen A/L Prak Dik. They were the alumni of KOSSAS graduated from three different classes. Topic that was discussed is Kebolehpasaran Mahasiswa Aktif Sukan di IPT.
The discussion started with the introduction of themselves and sport that they were involved before. Miss Siti Nor Hidayah known as one of the representatives of Negeri Sembilan netball player. Mr Shahman known for his softball games while Mr Maruth played a lot of sports but Badminton as his main sport. Most the panels stated that they were involved with sports since they started to join games that were organized by college. Since then, they start to involve with other sports too. We can conclude here that it is very important for student to always be brave and confident to explore new things in university.
Other than that, they also shared tips for students to always maintain fit in this pandemic era. Slogan stay at home doesn’t mean you need to sit down and do nothing, but instead many activities can be done in a house. Students should stay fit as it affects the students’ mental health too, as sweating could release serotonin hormone too. Therefore, they suggested to do home workout such as weight lifting, skipping and jogging around the house. These tips were given out to student so that students will remain active throughout the days.
Main topic that was discussed that night is how to balance studies and sports. Most of panels’ point of view were almost the same which students should be responsible and discipline without abandoned their studies while playing sports. As they need to know that they are a student and athlete. Studies should come first in any condition. Students should not take this matter easily so that they can be success in both fields. This discussion was an eye opener for all the students that were interested in sports as they could gain many knowledges throughout this forum discussion.
