SERDANG,UPM- Another proud success for KOSASS when the men's volleyball team won the silver medal in the Universiti Putra Malaysia (SUKPRA) College Sports Championship Volleyball Match. This match was held on 26 May 2024 which is Sunday at the Sports Academy, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The team consisting of 10 strong volleyball players has undergone intensive training since a week before the match which took place at Gelanggggang Astaka Seni in the evening. The team's success is also thanks to the guidance and education of their coach, Tuan Firdaus or more affectionately known as Tuan Pidot. He who is also a Pelanduk block fellow and assistant Youth and Sports officer at the Sports Academy has helped a lot in terms of designing game moves, attack and defense forms and providing moral support continuously.
In the preliminary stage, the KOSASS B team defeated the KC A and K10 B teams in the group match. This victory further qualified the KOSASS B team to compete in the quarter-finals against the KTAG team and also succeeded in defeating the opponent's tactics with a 31-23 point advantage. The KOSASS B team once again raised the name of the college when they narrowly won over the K12 B team in the semi-finals with a score of 31-30. However, the victory did not favor the KOSASS B team when they were defeated by the K10 A team with points of 16-25 and 18-25 in the final stage. Prizes for this match were presented by SUKPRA Tournament Manager, Mr. Faizol Ikmal accompanied by Mr. Firdaus.
Brother Hadieff Fathullah bin Shamshor who is one of the KOSASS B team players when interviewed expressed his pride because finally KOSASS was able to create history by qualifying for the final stage compared to the previous year which only made it to the quarter final stage. He also expressed the hope that the KOSASS team will be able to maintain sufficient performance, ability and training to be able to realize the dream of winning the gold medal in the college sports tournament in the coming session.
