The Herbal Garden is located at Speaker Corner of Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah, UPM. Its width is about 20 feets and there are various species of local herbs with their various functions such as medical, aromatheraphy, cosmetic, or simply as food or spices purpose can be found here.
Before the implementation of this project, a brief sharing of knowledge about the characteristics, nutritional values, ways to plant and preserve is shared by Dr. Paiman bin Bawon (Faculty of Forestry, UPM) to all the participants.
The concept of design for this garden follows the current trend, which emphasis the usefulness in human-being wellness or culinary ingredients, in spite of just for the environmental greening purposes.
Herbs is well-known with their various function. However, there are few people to get known of its planting ways as the misconcepts of difficulties to plant the herbs. Certainly, this kind of landscape can provide the studying values to the public. From this created herbs garden, we hope that KOSASS can be a partner to share the knowledge in the planting and daily usage of herbs with the interested public.
